
Our Roots and Growth Story
Kai Xiang Huat started out with humble beginnings. Our Founder, Mr Ng Buck Huat ("Ah Huat") worked as a deliveryman and fruit stall assistant in a local wet market. In 2005, together with his wife, he set up Kai Xiang Huat Fruit Suppliers as a sole proprietorship. The company was named after Ah Huat and his two sons, Mr Niki Ng Jun Kai ("Nick") and Mr Donald Ng Jun Xiang ("Donald"). Through long hours, manual hard work and perserverance, the business gradually stabilised as their two sons completed their National Service duties and tertiary education.
After the second generation Nick and Donald joined the family business in the 2010s, they leveraged technology to improve corporate functions, operational processes, inventory/supply chain management and employee productivity. The company also embarked on stringent food safety and management reviews and has attained the internationally recognised standards (HACCP and subsequently ISO 22000:2018) since 2014.
In 2020, the company converted to a private limited, and underwent a brand refresh which included a modernised logo, the launch of its first website and social media pages. This exercise helped to broaden Kai Xiang Huat's outreach to potential clients and enhanced our business credibility.
Today, Kai Xiang Huat is one of the leading fresh produce supplier in Singapore, specialising in the HoReCa industry. As a company that prides ourselves in service excellence, we continue to review our operations, innovate and find new ways to better serve our clients. Fun Fact - the mango is Ah Huat's favourite fruit!
Besides that fun fact, the mango is a common and readily available fruit in Singapore and across Asia. It evokes feelings of home, comfort, and familiarity.
The vibrant colors of a mango represents warmth, freshness and positive energy. This aligns with the customer-focused and collaborative approach we take with our clients.
Additionally, the mango is an exceptionally versatile and nutrient-rich fruit, usable in all stages of ripeness across sweet, savoury, raw and cooked dishes. Our Brand Colours
Kai Xiang Huat's brand colour palette consists of four distinct colours, each representing important aspects of who we are as an organisation. The colours also align with the diverse variety of our products - from premium airflown berries and stone fruits to tropical favourites such as mangoes, bananas, watermelons and citruses.
Our People
Kai Xiang Huat has a diverse team of 50 people spanning various nationalities and backgrounds. We are a close-knitted family - beyond work, we gather frequently to celebrate festive holidays, birthdays and new milestones.


Our Premises
Kai Xiang Huat is located within Pasir Panjang Wholesale Centre (PPWC), Singapore’s main wholesale and distribution point for imported fruits, vegetables, and dried goods. PPWC is managed by the Singapore Food Agency (SFA).
As a wholesale supplier, Kai Xiang Huat complies fully with prevailing food laws, as well as SFA's routine inspections and house rules for PPWC. We also participate in industry-wide conversations as a member of the Pasir Panjang Wholesale Centre Association (PPWCA).
