Community Efforts
As a family-run business with third generation dependents (Nick has two young daughters aged 6 and 8), we strive to leave a positive legacy by contributing to a better and greener future.
Kai Xiang Huat's core business is in the supply and distribution of fresh produce - fruits and vegetables which are vital for health and proper nutrition. As a small business, while we are unable to fork out large financial donations, we partner with non-profits to provide in-kind donations of fresh fruits, directly supplementing the nutritional needs of their beneficiaries. Our current non-profit partner is a residential children's home providing a safe space for vulnerable girls at risk or facing issues of abuse, neglect and delinquency. As a father of two girls, this social cause resonates personally with Nick.
To multiply our social impact, Kai Xiang Huat also supports our clients' corporate giving initiatives. We participate in annual charity gala dinners and runs organised by our clients, contributing through table sales and in-kind sponsorships. Our clients in turn use the donations received to support wider support programmes through Community Chest. In 2025, we are the proud recipient of Millennium Hotels and Resorts' National Award for excellence in partnership.
Environmental Efforts
Kai Xiang Huat has started to track our sustainability data through the EcoVadis platform, to support our clients' ESG goals and reporting requirements. Through this exercise and assessment, we learned about how well we have integrated the principles of Sustainability and CSR into our business and management system. We will continue taking steps to measure and reduce our environmental footprint.
To that end, Kai Xiang Huat contributes to food rescue groups who collect "ugly foods" from Pasir Panjang Wholesale Centre. This helps to reduce food waste and also supports the nutritional needs of the local communities. We also recycle cardboard and plastic packaging, containers and pallets from our shipments.
